I refer to various media reports on 11 May 2012 that Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) is pulling out from the Singapore Professional Football League, the S.League.

I wish to assure our fans that we remain committed to the S.League.

Since our participation in the S.League from 2004, we have always had a strong working relationship with the Football Association of Singapore and the S.League management.

We have built up a substantial fan base, both local and Japanese, over the past 9 years.  We are committed to our fans and supporters to keep the Club going from strength to strength both on and off the pitch.

On the pitch, we won our first trophy in 2011 by winning the League Cup and came close to adding a second trophy in the narrow 1-0 defeat to Home United in the RHB Singapore Cup Final.

Off the field, we are working hard to contribute to the development of Singapore Football.  Our collaboration with the Singapore Sports School and adidas helped us sent 5 Singapore Sports School Boys to Albirex Niigata Japan for a 10-day attachment in Mar 2012.

We have also engaged both the Japanese and local community actively.  For example, we work closely with community groups such as Promisedland Community Services and local primary / secondary schools by conducting regular football clinics.

In addition, our Albirex Cheerleaders represented Yuhua Constituency in the National Cheerleading Competition 2012 and came in as Champions in the Community Freestyle category.  Our Cheerleaders have also performed regularly in Grassroots events in the Jurong Community.

Through many sporting avenues, in addition to football activities, we want to and will continue to reach out to the community and contribute to Singapore as a Sports Club.

We hope that our fans and supporters in Singapore would continue to support the S.League, Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) and our many outreach activities.
