Albirex Bows Out of Singapore Cup After Loss to DPMM
Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) faced a disappointing evening in their Singapore Cup campaign, falling 3-1 to Brunei DPMM.
This loss, combined with previous defeats, has unfortunately eliminated Albirex from advancing in the competition.
The match saw DPMM's Dāvis Ikaunieks score twice, in the 29th and 88th minutes, with Nurikhwan Othman adding another in the 72nd minute.
Albirex's Shingo Nakano managed to pull one back in the 80th minute, but it was too little, too late.
With this result, Albirex's Singapore Cup journey has come to an end, as they have lost three games in a group of five teams, making it impossible for them to advance to the semi-finals.
Despite the setback, Albirex will focus on their Singapore Premier League campaign, where they continue to strive for a strong finish.
