The White Swans lost to a humiliating 7-1 defeat to Lion City Sailors this evening at Bishan Stadium.

National Team striker Shawal Anuar opened the scoring for the sailors at the 9th minute.
Against the run of play, right back Arshad Shamim put in a lovely cross for currently out-of-sorts striker Shuhei Hoshino to head in a rare goal in the 21st minute. Hoshino looked to be in an offside position but VAR awarded the goal to many's surprise.

However, 10 minutes later, Sailors exploited the White Swan's weakness in the left flank again. Lennart Thy, Sailors, newly acquired striker, put the ball past Hassan Sunny's far post to regain the lead for Sailors.
The half time score was 2-1.
Albirex capitulated in the second half conceding 5 goals. Bailey Wright, Sailor's Australian Centre back, lost his marker in a corner and scored the 3rd goal for Sailor in the 54th minute.
Substitute Song Uiyoung who came on for the injured Shawal Anuar, volleyed past a hapless Hassan for the 4th goal in the 60th minute.
Hoshino lost the ball upfront in the 64th minute and through a quick counter attack, Sailors No. 10 Bart Ramselaar scored the 5th goal.
The White Swans has lost all defensive shape and compactness and the Sailors attackers were walking through the defence. Star player, Maxime Lestienne was given too much space at the left flank and put in a spectacular shot to Hassan's top right corner.
The humiliation was completed in the 83rd minute when Ramselaar scored his second goal and Sailor's 7th for the night.

The White Swans will have a bye week this coming weekend, and will host Geylang International 2 weeks later on 6th July at Jurong East Stadium. Head Coach Yoshinaga would have to find solutions for the defensive frailties and the inability to score upfront before Geylang come knocking.
